Born in Detroit and raised in the rural community of Pittsfield Township, Blaine Luis was an athlete from a young age. He spent his teenage years tirelessly devoted to football and track. While he picked up guitar at the age of thirteen, it wasn't until he was twenty one that he discovered the blues while listening to Gravity, Live at Nokia by John Mayer. He quickly became immersed in the styles of blues legends such as Eric Clapton, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, and Robert Cray, to name a few. After cutting his teeth in several local bands, he formed the Blaine Luis Band, a three piece that boasts fire-breathing riffs and funkified grooves with a unique blend of blues, funk, and rock & roll covers.
